History of Giving & Reason for Our Foundation

For 15 years, our community has come together to support local charities through an annual golf tournament starting at Casey’s Bar and Restaurant and later continuing under Brookside Market for the past 6 years. Each year, we unite local businesses and individuals to raise vital funds for causes that directly benefit and support our community. The tradition has been a testament to the power of community spirit and collective effort. 

In 2024, as we celebrated our 15th year, we realized the growing importance of expanding our mission to do even more. That’s when we founded Heart of Gold Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to honoring the legacy of Bobby Brooks. Bobby’s spirit of empathy, support, and kindness continues to inspire us, and through this foundation, we aim to give back to our community by addressing local needs and supporting charitable initiatives that make a tangible difference.

The Foundation’s inaugural year was marked by a profound effort: we raised $50,000 for Erin Bull and her family. The Bull family had a medical diagnosis that shook their family. The outpouring of support from those around them was both humbling and inspiring. We are proud to stand by families like the Bulls, ensuring they have the support they need during these hard times. 

The Heart of Gold Foundation is committed to expanding its charitable efforts, bringing people together for a common cause, and continuing to honor Bobby Brooks’ legacy of giving. With each passing year, we strive to make a lasting impact on the lives of those who need it most.

As we look to the future, we are excited to continue building on our mission of support and compassion. With the ongoing generosity of our supporters and the collective effort of our dedicated team, we look forward to many more years of making a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve.
